Honors, Talks, and Student Successes
It’s been an exciting season for the DPRL, with recent recognitions, high-profile talks, and career milestones that underscore our growing impact at the intersection of AI and scientific research.
Invited Talk at Perimeter Institute’s Theory + AI Symposium
In early April, Dr. Zanibbi was honored to give an invited talk at the prestigious Theory + AI Symposium hosted by the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics. The talk highlighted ongoing work on ReactionMiner, a tool developed to advance AI-based chemistry understanding. The symposium featured a slate of leader AI scientists, including 2024 Nobel Laureate, Geoffrey Hinton, and brought together top minds working at the frontier of physics and artificial intelligence. We are so proud of Dr. Zanibbi!

DPRL Student Achievements
The impact of our MMLI collaborations continues to resonate with our students:
-
Bryan Amador, PhD student, is spending the summer interning at Linker Finance, leveraging his expertise in technical document information extraction developed through MMLI research.
-
Ayush Kumar Shah, PhD student, will defend his dissertation in late June, which focuses on chemical diagram parsing from born-digital and image inputs. He will be joining Meta in the Bay Area as a Research Scientist starting in July.
-
Abhisek Dey, PhD student, completed a summer 2024 internship with Insitro, a drug design startup led by renowned AI scientist Daphne Koller, thanks to experience gained through MMLI.
These milestones reflect the powerful opportunities made possible through our partnerships and the dedication of our students and collaborators. Congratulations to all!
